What is Digital Personal Data Protection act 2023?
An Act passed by Indian Parliament on 8th August 2023 and got the assent of the Hon'ble President of India on 11th August 2023 to facilitate the processing of digital personal data while upholding individuals' rights to protect their personal information and ensuring its lawful use, along with related and incidental matters.The act provides for the processing of digital personal data in a manner that recognises both the right of individuals to protect their personal data and the need to process such personal data for lawful purposes and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto
Key Principles of DPDP Act 2023

Individual Right's
Grants individuals the right to access, correct, and delete their personal data, empowering them to have control over how their data is collected and used by various organizations.
Purpose Limitation
The personal data is to be collected only for specified, legitimate, and explicit purposes. It should not be processed further in such a way that is deemed incompatible with those purposes.
Data Minimization
It is suggested that the personal data is adequate and relevant. Ensuring that the data is limited to only what is required with respect to the purposes that the data is being processed to.
